Hi all,
for all Sonar and Soft Synth users, Is it worth upgrading from Sonar 8.5 to x1? Is it worth upgrading from Rapture Le to Rapture? And lastly, is it worth spending 200 on an e-mu proteius pack for dimension?
Please help if possible..
I'm using Jsonar, but when I try to send stuff to the mailing list, I am not answered back. Either I am being ignored or the mail isn't getting through.
Please help.
Matthew

Don't purchase EMu's stuff, i have a sound font you can import to your daw that has the Prodius samples.

It's kind of too late since I already purchased the Dimension which I'm really liking. In the dimension version you also get PX7 which you don't get in other versions. Which Soundfont do you Have? The good thing about buying it was that I though it would be 200, but it turned out ot be 150 and saved me 50 dollars. I really like the Piano's and guitars in Proteius 2000.

Do not purchase Sonar X1 at this time. The accessibility that they built into previous versions is totally broken in x1. The two main script developers are not sure how long it will take to make it accessible or if they can afford to make that investment. so for now, Sonar producer 8.53 is your best bet.

Thanks for all the info. I've already read the article on x1, but i posted this before I found out about its inaccessibility. For Mics, I'l definetly get an at2020. It seems worth it.
Thanks for all the help.

I just found Trilogy on my friends portable hard drive, and since he doesn't use any of the soft synths on there, i took it for myself and am installing it. Is there anything I should sure I do before i install it? Does the HSC set actually work with it?
Would the Omnisphere hsc set actually work with Omnisphere?

At2020, awesome awesome mic!!!
Glad you're liking your e-mu stuff. The Sound Font I have is a whole collection of stuff. Neptunes drums, prodius stuff, basses Yamaha piano, Roland drums and more.

Just wondering did you do that awesome mini motif blind cool tech review? That was pretty sweet. I'm so iritated cause my MobilPre is not working with Sonar. I've installed the right drivers, but when i swith to asio, and select the drivers, sonar tells me about missing audio outputs. And it doesn't play back audio if I plug in headphones though my volume is pretty high. I'm so confused and frustrated.
Actually I can't decide between the at2020 and the sm58. If my interface will continue being a jerk, then I'l have to get an at2020 usb. But if it functions correctly, then I'd rather get the sm58 since it's a classic and has not broken when dropped from 6 storries.
What's the name of the soundfont you have?
Where can I get it, and how much does it cost?

Oh thanks man, I appreciate that. Haha. That was when my equipment could have been better. LOL
I haven't played with Sonar, so I wouldn't know. I'm really sorry man.

It's a free sound Font made by Andre Louis from the UK and Arfy from New Zealand.
Go to
This page which is Andre's Program page,
And find the 7Zip on there. Check it out, and enjoy!
